The Foundation Board

Mark was educated at Gowerton School and read Economics at the University of Nottingham. After working briefly for the Civil Service as an economist, he gained a PGCE at the University of London and then entered the teaching profession. Mark has a Master’s degree in Education from the University of London and a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from SOAS, University of London.

Previously Second Master (Senior Deputy Head) at the Royal Grammar School, Guildford, and before that Head of Middle School and Head of Economics and Business Studies at Whitgift School, Mark took up his post as Headmaster at Reed’s in September 2014.  

An advocate of the ethos of producing happy children through an environment that promotes their self-confidence and self-esteem, Mark is exceptionally proud of the fact that Reed’s pupils are well-rounded, compassionate, and personable.
