The Andrew Reed Society

The Andrew Reed Society was established as a way of saying thank you for those who have decided to leave a legacy to Reed’s (of any amount) and/or have donated £100,000 or more in their lifetime.

Members of the Society (together with spouses/partners) will receive special recognition (unless we are otherwise advised) through invitations to special Reed’s events, membership lapel badges and their name on our special honours boards.

We recently held a special reception at Cadogan Hall before the School’s Gala Concert, hosted by the Chairman and Headmaster, for members of the Society. A wonderful evening of champagne, canapes and outstanding music was had by all.

We always welcome new members, so if you are considering leaving a legacy to Reed’s please do get in touch.

Legacy donations will go into our Foundation bursary endowment fund, the Andrew Reed Growth Endowment Fund, unless otherwise specified. Only the income generated from this fund is allocated each year, consequently leaving a legacy to the Reed’s Foundation is truly giving the gift of an education to vulnerable children in perpetuity. Additionally any legacy or major gift over £100,000 is recognised with a named bursary award.

Your bequest is vital: it will ensure that the endowment which helps fund our future Foundation pupils can continue in perpetuity, offering life-changing opportunities for generations to come.

Making a bequest allows donors to do more than they might be able to do in their lifetime. For those with ongoing financial commitments, pledging a legacy is the ideal way to support the Foundation whilst at the same time ensuring favourable tax benefits for the remainder of your estate. It is also offers a wonderful opportunity to perhaps remember a particular loved one or to give thanks for a good education received at Reed’s School.

If you wish to speak with someone about leaving a gift to Reed’s in your will please contact Kathryn Bartram (Director of Development & External Relations) on 01932 869025 or via email kbartram@reeds.surrey.sch.uk
